Irish Society of
Western Manitoba

Our Philosophy

In order to show the Community at large that all Irish people, regardless of their economic, religious or geographical background, have the ability to live together in peace and harmony, the Society shall in all its public pronouncements and activities of all kinds, be non-sectarian, non-political and non-profit.

The Irish Society of Western Manitoba is governed by a board consisting of 22 members.

We hold a few events throughout the year. The main event is the Irish Pavilion at the Lieutenant Governor's Winter Festival that takes place annually in the first weekend of February. During this weekend over 150 members and volunteers work to create a family, fun-filled event with the sale of home made Irish food; Irish Stew, soda bread, potato bread, barm brack and shortbread are the traditional favourites. As part of promoting Irish culture, entertainment with music and Irish dancing are also showcased.

Since 2003

The Irish Society of Western Manitoba has donated $145,665.88 to charitable causes. Please view our Donations page to see the full list.
